MiniStore of youth football in the years 1940-45 in Chieti less
The making of a local team. Seen in many years by Licio Edwards.
I wanted to return to the description of "the pitch of the builders" to give him more space than there was the 1st part. There are reports dating back to 1933 that our historic Rocco Di Tizio reported in his book. When I say "were forged many individual citizens as well as the national" I refer to athletes as Frossati, military Chieti militant in Padua. L'Aquila and Ambrosiana Inter - who trains at the famous "Multidisciplinary" with Piero Charter Livorno goalkeeper and then another fifteen Novelli, that year, made his debut with the Chieti. Other players in that period as Parrozzani, Tullio Di Clemente and Branch were part of that group.
But what was this pitch? A vast open space where, I remember it just because I was a kid, where the masons after work gave vent to their favorite sport. The regime built the palace of the GIL (Young Italian Littorio), which was completed for several years and became an incomplete construction that clutter the yard.

Era un luogo di raccolta di opinioni, di ragionamenti ed anche di storia perché tra il tabaccaio first and then the barber and tobacconist and coffee - ice cream after they were always crowds of people and we all knew. Then, like all things, you are first thinned and then life took us in different parts of the world with our memories and regrets. I tried to track down many of them but not always the attempt failed and I had some love for different findings. I have maintained contact with other fraternal and some notes I had from them, especially in the description I posted on some sites, on the 2nd World War in our ward.
There were the neighboring districts, but the unions were groups of houses. For the shooting were the brothers Di.Le., then A. and others, by the way Gaetani D'Aragona There were the brothers M. (The Vi. Then became colonel of the army and now lives in Rome), Ca.Fa., Se.Bo. and Ar.Am. called "mouse" which brought together several of her house in an open space facing the street, then brothers Sa. and others. For Pietragrossa Al.Di.Cl., who died some time ago, but should be regarded as the "tobacco", and Lu.Ma. and others. Via Valignani me and my brother Henry, Ma.Gi., Na.Ca., Ma.La.Ci., and then, recently moved from a country of Lancianese, the brothers there .. We were the nucleus via Valignani largest.
some more than others who were interested in the practice match were just in our area, especially around the Technical Institute. Several readily applied and some They were not brought and was not required when the teams were doing.
The first match took place between these groups, but over time we will go further and challenged the districts cited, and our "stage" was the wide open space that was in front of the roller mill De Luca was needed for the discharge of goods. Next to the tram tracks were all that were needed to trade in vehicles especially those carrying goods, as the station doubled as a throw-in.
was a rectangular open space and the iron gate of the Technical Institute, had been adopted as a door while the other bounded by the usual stones and various garments. When he arrived for loading or unloading a truck of flour and pasta, games were interrupted to our great disappointment and staff, we knew, trying to speed up the operations to free up the "field".

I was part in the middle, CF at quarterback, SB (known for having one of the best shoe shops in the Course Marrucino) was the median, then that A. was very acrobatic and lived on the shooting.
Mario G. Again we had a (made-holders of Chieti), who had a good playing technique and touch of the ball and an overview of the game. I think it was destined for a career in the National Series, and family problems but have prevented the project and also the dream, giving up football career, moving to Milan in the industry, where he still resides. GDL in central defense with his brother, O. up front and then the brothers C.. Then again La.Ci. offensiveness was an advocate for me as a brother, because we worked together in the same research body, has died some years ago in Rome. Still the king's brother, center and opportunist thief, he said it was rather poor for me was what decided the match. Then taken after a military career to banking, he became a linesman and referee in Serie C to Serie A and B and also had much success with the award for the best referee in Serie C (years 70-72), now lives in Udine. Do not remember the other elements, but certainly we were determined to move forward, encouraged by friends.
For the crew tried to replace them with lighter shirts. On the left chest was sewn a kind of emblem symbolizing a shield with \u0026lt;> that would make a good show. The shorts were the ones we had, different socks and shoes, each one gets by.
We decided to go to the field of Civitella to try to play team. We introduced ourselves to the custodian (the legendary "Garibaldi), who saw us just smiled and gave us permission to play on the lawn (so no grass) and who had no shoes, moved almost to pity them contented with him a pair that fit with very happy and also distributed some more decent shirt and socks. Our happiness is palpable. We played with a team within our reach and not disfigured in the strongest terms.
But we noticed that the Chieti had no second place team and played among their members and reserves of the "pink".
One day, we still with our shirts sewn by our mothers, we were approached by a man in the stadium we knew, was the porter Novelli on behalf of the SS Chieti, who told us that we needed to train and was going to make us play with the holders of Chieti.
began to learn important lessons such as stopping the ball properly on the ground and flight. How do you put a ball side and manage our energy. Click and cross toward the center, in short, we were completing our technique. He learned quickly because there were youth and desire to do and then our technical knowledge were very sketchy.
when playing against the 1st team, a great emotion. I remember the coach Moretti we turned a detailed explanation on the meeting to be run so as not to create physical damage to players, but almost an invitation to correct our nature was marked by the youthful vigor to have played on the road and makeshift camps, which had been a gym for us.
Having played with any kind of ball we had brought to a smooth ball control, but a difficulty was that the weight of the ball. We felt very heavy and the main difficulty was our accuracy, but the players of Chieti we followed with interest and curiosity.
an unforgettable experience for us young people. At the same time we looked around the city because many teams were forming.
Even after our team's experience with the Chieti began to thin out the meetings and then also disappeared.
